Lesley-Anne has a strong entrepreneurial spirit. Her career has included successfully managing a sales team for a leading software company and creating and managing two other independent businesses. She has a strong track record in both the business and academic world.
Originally from Ireland, Lesley-Anne now lives in Germany with her husband and two teenage children. In 2014 she co-founded Write English, a consultancy focused on training and supporting graduate students and senior researchers to effectively communicate their research. Through workshops and one-on-one coaching, Lesley-Anne demystifies the process of writing for peer reviewed journals and prepares academics to present with poise at international conferences. She works with leading universities throughout Germany and Europe including the TU Berlin, LISER Institute in Luxembourg, and the world-renowned Leibniz Institute.
Before relocating to Germany, Lesley-Anne worked as a senior manager in London. As head of a large sales division in a software company, she learned the value of excellent communication skills. As well as generating significant revenue for the company, Lesley-Anne spent many hours presenting to clients and at industry events.
Three words that describe me
Empathetic, Creative, Enthusiastic
My job in London involved recruiting and coaching young executives. This quickly became one of the most rewarding aspects of my work. After relocating to Germany, it was clear I should move into a coaching and training role – since then I have never looked back.
Something unique about me
I love all things creative, so much so that in 2002 I opened a store selling arts and crafts in Ireland. I’m studying for my masters in academic writing and research development – when I have a spare moment, I enjoying hiking with good friends and my dog, Archie.
